The Antonio Belloni Theater defined as a musical treasure chest, dedicated to opera, was born in Brianza, in Barlassina, just outside Milan.
The idea is by Marco Belloni heir to a dynasty of furniture makers who since 1875 have been creating fine furniture. He designed and then built the smallest Opera House in the world, dedicating it to his father. The theater was built with fine materials, has perfect acoustics in order to make it one of the most elegant.
Marco Belloni had clear ideas from the very beginning: he wanted a real opera house, in grand style even if small in size. The theater can accommodate up to nearly one hundred spectators.
The theater's floor plan is rectangular. Like the Court Theaters, it is intended to be a place for gathering and cultural exchange. The theater's elegant décor with stucco, roses, and decorative elements not usually found in opera houses is connected to Barlassina and the history of this municipality. In fact, through this theater a piece of Lombardy's territory is told: Barlassina.
The Theatro Antonio Belloni, born as the Teatro di Corte, is however today also a popular destination for opera fans who come not only from Lombardy but also from neighboring regions and Switzerland, and in addition has important twinnings with international cultural and musical institutions. The proposals are those of an exclusive format, that of Spettacoli Narrati. Music and storytelling are closely intertwined.
The theater also has the Small Academy where children and young people learn to sing, act and dance. It is often a venue for events for individuals and companies. Just for that there is a reception hall that can accommodate, like the theater nearly one hundred people.
