In the heart of the historic center

Taking a walk through the historic center of Monza is a journey through time and culture, an experience that mixes millennial history and vibrant contemporaneity. In this context, the Arengario stands as one of the city's architectural jewels, a witness to bygone eras and a meeting point for residents and visitors alike.

Starting at the Arengario, one is confronted with an imposing building, dating back to the medieval period, which has seen the history of Monza unfold around it. Originally used as a place of public assembly and justice, the Arengario still retains its aura of historical importance.

Walking along the cobbled streets of the historic center, one is immersed in the atmosphere of a bygone era, gazing at the facades of ancient houses that tell stories of merchants and artisans, nobles and commoners. The squares are enlivened by cafes and restaurants that invite you to pause, enjoying traditional Lombard dishes.

In the Lombard heart.

Custodian of the treasure for which Monza has remained famous over the centuries, the Duomo owes its origins to Longobard Queen Theodolinda. It has a splendid façade with rose window and openwork tiles. Inside, a chapel houses the Wrought Iron Crown, a symbol of the sacred foundation of royal power. Don't miss the Treasury Museum: 14 centuries of art and history among masterpieces of the West.
