Constructed from the 16th century onwards to a design by Martino Bassi with modifications in later centuries, it is a splendid example of a historic residence.
In its interior it preserves important cycles of frescoes and stuccoes created from the 16th to the 18th century by famous painters active in Milan. Among the most distinguished names are Mattia Bortoloni, Carlo Antonio Procaccini, Giovanni Stefano Montalto, Giovanni Paolo Cavagna.
