Via Vittorio Emanuele II, originally called "contrada Ferdinandea," was planned around 1838 in anticipation of Ferdinand I's visit and officially opened in 1847. This street, parallel to Via Lambro, represents an important urban axis of Monza, crossed by the Ponte dei Leoni, an 1842 sculptural work by Antonio Tantardini. The bridge replaced the nearby 1st-century AD Ponte d'Arena, adding a historic and artistic element to the cityscape.
In addition to its architectural history and connection to the Lambro River, Via Vittorio Emanuele II is a vibrant hub of urban life, enhanced by fashionable boutiques, trendy cafes and cozy restaurants. The street invites residents and visitors to stroll through its elegant streets, offering a shopping, relaxing and cultural experience in the heart of Monza.
