Of the church of Santa Marta, built in the second half of the 14th century, only part of the chancel built in the early 1700s remains, today integrated into a 20th-century building.
Next to the church stood a hospice for the indigent and a Monte di Pietà approved by Pope Leo X in 1515; the complex was run by a confraternity.
The buildings of Santa Marta bordered the very old church of San Michele, traditionally of Lombard foundation; facing the Verziere, the city space used as a fruit and vegetable market, they were almost entirely demolished in the 1920s for urban renewal.
