Partner of the Monza Walking Groups is the Association "Brianza per il Cuore"
Participation in the Walking Groups is free and free - just go to the appointment at the time and place indicated - after filling in and signing the membership form prepared by ATS Brianza. (See attachments)
What are the benefits?
Walking is a "practice" available to everyone, requiring no special skills or equipment. One can walk in all areas of one's city, preferably in green areas. Walking with other people, in addition to improving health, stimulates socialization and promotes self-esteem bringing benefits on a psychophysical level. Walking regularly strongly contributes to improving or preventing the following diseases: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, falls and hip fractures, colon cancer and other malignancies.
For proper walking it is recommended: comfortable and suitable clothing for the season, appropriate shoes (gym type not with flat soles), water bottle, fanny pack or backpack (avoid bags and shoulder bags).
How to activate a Walking Group
The Municipal Administration, Association, a private citizen, contacts ATS Brianza. A preliminary meeting of the medical and/or nursing staff is held, with the applicant. The following are defined: the role of the Walking Guides and their recruitment, the identification of the route and the meeting point. The route with the Walking Guides is evaluated. Finally, the departure date is identified.
For proper nutrition
A varied and balanced diet provides all the nutrients we need to stay well. It is important to alternate food choices often. The main sources of energy come from grains (pasta, bread, rice); growth and maintenance of body structure require protein sources (meat, fish, eggs, legumes, dairy products) and a modest share of fats (such as extra virgin olive oil).

- Be sure to drink plenty of water
- 5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables provide all the vitamins and minerals you need
- Buy sugar, sweets, sugary drinks in moderation
- If you add salt to foods use little
