The International Piano Competition Rina Sala Gallo is authoritatively among the prestigious cultural events that the Monza and Brianza area knows how to express.
It is a competition that has now become historical, the prodromes of which can be traced back to the immediate post-war period, back in 1947 when pianist Rina Sala Gallo, in collaboration with Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, implemented this project, which since 1970 has become a biennial competition named after her and is now in its 27th edition that will be held from September 29 to October 5, 2024.
Since 2009, the competition has been part of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (FMCIM) www.fmcim.org.
The Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition is sponsored by the City of Monza and the Rina Sala Gallo Music Association.
