On the occasion of the Park Festival at the Civic Museums will be exhibited the 4 paintings from the civic collections that Emilio Borsa dedicated to the changing of the seasons in Monza Park.
The pictorial research of Emilio Borsa (Milan 1857 - Monza 1931) focuses mainly on the intimate and everyday places of Monza and its surroundings experienced with total immersion, so much so that the painter lived for a long time inside the Park. The daily frequentation of the Park led the Borsa to produce a numerous series of views, inspired by the changing seasons: juxtaposed in a sort of "symphony" of nature, the views focus on trees and skies, with color spread in rapid touches evoking a reality in perpetual change. The result of frequent en plen er sessions, the paintings on display are characteristic of the author's style in rendering the dense wooded landscapes of the Park, devoid of human presence: nature manifests itself in its essence, with spring evoked by the fresh, bright colors, the quick touches, and the deliberate lack of precise definition of forms. The solitary trunks, surrounded by the tender green of the first spring leaves or the more intense green that preludes the summer season, stand out against the bright openings in the background, creating elegant plays of backlighting.
The mini-exhibition can be visited during the museum's opening days and hours.
