Villa Torneamento, situated close to the centre of Monza in the district of San Fruttuoso, stands splendidly in a large landscaped park and is surrounded by crenelated walls in neo-medieval style.
Constructed in the early 1700s, and then renovated with more of an eclectic taste in the following century, it is so-called because, according to legend, the ancient lords held practice tournaments with their weapons on the very same spot.
Villa Torneamento vaunts a sumptuously frescoed ballroom and other interior spaces of great beauty that evoke the historic magnificence of the residence. In 1951Villa Torneamento passed into the hands of the female religious institute of the Daughters of Divino Zelo (Divine Zeal) that embarked on extensive renovations and adapted the edifice into a school building.
