Chiesa di San Giulio

The news of the presence in Barlassina of a church dedicated to San Giulio Orta dates back to the thirteenth century. The building was converted and renovated on several occasions.

The Chapel of Nostra Signora dell'Aiuto, contains precious paintings by Leonardo da Vinci's follower, Bernardino Luini, depicting sacred images. But this part of the ancient and illustrious is overwhelmed by the great octagonal space that was added in 1933 to meet the religious needs of a growing population. This space was painted by one of the most interesting European abstract painters, Valentino Vago, born in Barlassina.
