Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 The Villasanta Festival of Geographies will announce its sixth edition with a preview on the Monza area.
The theme of the 2024 edition of the Festival is MOUNTAINS Matters of Some Importance.
To mark the occasion, the Festival has organized a theatrical performance by Roberto Anglisani directed by Livio Viano: The Conquest of the Matterhorn, as an ideal anticipation of the themes that will be addressed in this sixth edition.
The show tells the gripping story of the first ascent of the Matterhorn, one of the most iconic and dangerous mountains in the Alps, which took place on July 14, 1865. The tale is set in the context of the race to the summits that characterized the second half of the 19th century, when mountaineers from around the world competed to conquer the highest and most inaccessible mountains.
