The BrianzaBibliotecary System organizes the fourth edition of the "Festival of Stories. Give me a book that opens doors".
78 days, from Saturday, Sept. 21 to Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, dedicated to people, readers, books, and stories: more than 100 free events for children, teens, adults and seniors will enliven the 47 libraries of the Network, the San Fruttuoso and Sant'Albino Biblio Points and the library of the Monza Prison.
More than 30 cultural and entertainment professionals will conduct readings, workshops, recitals with live music, shows, conferences constructed around this edition's chosen theme, sport and the Olympic spirit. The Festival aims to anticipate, promote and interpret the great event to be held in our mountainous and urban area in 2026: the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The events will be articulated according to the values expressed in the Olympic Charter: respect, brotherhood, loyalty, promotion of peace, understanding, solidarity and fair play. Sport, culture and education are closely related aspects, and the Festival wants to make itself the bearer of this overall vision by offering its target audience valuable opportunities with which they can translate the fundamentals of sport into the community.
Some appointments will be an opportunity to reflect on the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines. Great importance will be given to this last aspect: inclusion is an indispensable element for the society of the future, a value to be repeated in all livable and feasible contexts.
Hosts of the review will be the Italian Paralympic Committee, Panathlon Monza and Brianza, the ASPHI Foundation of Bologna, the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, and some sportsmen such as Mattia Muratore and Andrea Pusateri.
An additional line of events will be dedicated to the mountain, to make the community experience and appreciate the splendors and opportunities that an area like ours offers.
