Monza grew up along the Lambro River, which runs through it from north to south. In the past, the river was at the center of daily life and many activities took place along its banks. A number of mills arose, which used the waters as motive power.
There are still three mills with a nineteenth-century flavor within Monza Park, which now serve residential or agricultural functions.
