Spiritual Route

This itinerary offers the knowledge of art and history of the major religious sites of the old town, that arose over the centuries, in relation to the cathedral and in the presence of patriarchal rite.
The itinerary includes a visit to the Duomo, admiring its exterior and interior, then to the Augustinian church of Santa Maria in Strada, the former convent of San Francesco and the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli;  the tour continues with the monastery of San Pietro Martire, with the church of Santa Maria and Sant’Agata al Carrobiolo, with the small church San Gerardino, and finally San Maurizio, the Benedictine conventual church which reminds the story of the nun of Monza: character of the famous novel "I Promessi Sposi" (The Betrothed) by Alessandro Manzoni.

Thematic itineraries follow the touristic signals recently installed in the streets and squares of the city. Panels on the paths differ in color, following the theme of each itinerary: the Spiritual Route is marked by yellow color.
