HISTORY OF ART COURSE
The history of art looked at from another perspective: color
The Color Blue (2nd lecture) Course taught by Simona Bartolena.
5:30 p.m. Lecture Room, Musei Civici
The history of art looked at from a particular and very interesting point of view, that of the colors employed by artists. Where do the colors come from? Why are some more precious than others? What is their symbolic meaning? What conditions a painter's choice of palette? There are many questions that a subject like this can raise. This series of meetings will provide some answers, with examples drawn from art history of all times, including history, customs, traditions, economics, psychology, chemical processes, perceptual systems, stylistic and iconographic readings.
Initiative in collaboration with Amici dei Musei di Monza e Brianza ETS.
