The "FAI Days of Spring" are back for the 34th edition, the great event that since 1993 gives hundreds of thousands of Italians - on the first weekend of spring to discover the cultural and landscape heritage of the cities where they live.

Thanks to the efforts of thousands of volunteers from FAI Delegations and Groups, hundreds of often little-known places that symbolize the art, history and nature of the area will be open for free visits.

CASCINA CERNUSCHI, CARABINIERI FIXED POST ON HORSEBACK

CASCINA CERNUSCHI

The Cascina Cernuschi is located on Viale Mirabello, inside Monza Park, one of the largest walled parks in Europe, established on September 14, 1805 by Emperor Napoleon with the aim of making it a model agricultural estate and hunting reserve. The building is home to the Carabinieri Fixed Post on horseback of the Monza Park, the only one in Italy, framed within the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Monza and Brianza.

The Barracks will be exceptionally opened for FAI Days and you can learn about the history of the building, its spaces and functions.

CHURCH OF S. MARIA IN STRADA

SANTA MARIA IN STRADA

The Church of Santa Maria in Strada is located in the very central Via Italia, in the heart of the city, a few steps from the Cathedral, the Arengario, Piazza Trento e Trieste and the Palazzo Comunale.

The foundation of the Church dates back to 1348, when a group of Franciscan tertiaries, living in Monza, transformed a building in the district of Strata into an oratory.

During the FAI Spring Days, you will have the opportunity to learn about one of Monza's most interesting and historically rich churches, a church that in its nearly seven centuries of life has witnessed the urban, economic and social transformation of the city, coming out largely unscathed, so much so that it has preserved the only 14th-century fresco present in Monza.

The opening will feature the participation of the Apprentice Tour Guides.

VILLA CAMBIAGHI, HOME OF THE LION DEHON INSTITUTE

ISTITUTO LEONE DEHON

The Leone Dehon Institute, formerly Villa Cambiaghi, is located in a slightly elevated position at the northern edge of the city center; it overlooks the monumental Citterio Square and the Royal Groves leading to the Royal Villa.

A visit to the building, patiently restored and well preserved, allows one to retrace the different stages of its centuries-old history. One can appreciate the elegance of the staircases, the precious marbles, the elaborate wrought ironwork, the splendid polychrome stained-glass windows, the stucco work, the frescoes in the Ballroom, the semicircular walnut library, a scaled-down reproduction of the one in the Villa Reale, the Countess' bathroom with refined faucets and sanitary ware and fine materials such as marble and alabaster, and the neo-Gothic Cambiaghi Gentilizia Chapel of great chromatic and iconographic richness.
