In Italy, the average number of streets named after women ranges from 3 percent to 5 percent and are predominantly Madonnas and Saints.

INVISIBLES - Stories of women who have defied millenarian prejudices
edited by Archwoman's Association aps, introduced by journalist Barbara Rachetti
A series of appointments linked by the thin red thread of cultural violence, a devious violence, perhaps among the worst of those exercised against women and which is at the root of the other, more visible manifestations of mistreatment. A violence that consists in not naming them, in not recounting the achievements they have made for the community, in different spheres: from the arts to science, from literature to sports, economics, law, but also in everyday life.
