The initiative prepares the city for the arrival of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Flame, scheduled for February 4, 2026.
The program, promoted by the City Council, includes sports, cultural and educational activities that will involve citizens in the months leading up to it.
Monza will be "Stage City and City Celebration", the last stop before Milan: the flashlight will travel 3.8 km through the city streets, with the participation of schools, associations and citizens, and the day will culminate with the lighting ceremony of the Olympic brazier in Piazza Trento e Trieste.

Numerous events were attended by the protagonists of the Italian winter sports world, such as skiing champion Michele Boscacci and Monza athlete Nicolaj Memola, figure skater.
The November 5 will kick off the "Waiting for the Torchlight" series of events in Monza, at Binario 7's Chaplin Hall, with the participation of skiing champion Deborah Compagnoni.
In the Christmas season, as part of the "Together at Christmas" 2025 events, the program of "Waiting for the Torchlight" will be recalled with manifestations and animations in the squares and neighborhoods to commemorate the anticipation of the great Olympic event.
